The 12th of April I started a new job at Bennett Reklamebyrå. Bennett is a well established advertising company in Trondheim. Bennett has two departments, one that focuses on printed media, and the other one is more focused on digital media.

My role is in the digital department as a front end developer, where I get to do what I like the most; HTML, CSS, jQuery, usability, SEO and all the other stuff that I love about the web also including social media.

Norsk Flid
After a brief introduction to the main product at the digital department, their own CMS system called bNet, I was put on a project. There was a lot of work waiting for me as it has been 2 months since my friend Marianne, who was holding this position before me, left for Oslo.

My first task was to style up a site that was already designed by the other department, and where the developers already had started developing the solution. So I got in pretty much in the middle of it. But I really enjoyed it cause it had been while since I'd done a large site like this. The client was a large company fronting Norwegian hand crafts and specially the Norwegian national costumes. So the solution was much about presenting the products and designers, called Norsk Flid. The week after we had a big release. And since one of the major products and focus area for the client was the Norwegian national costumes, we all decided to wear ours on the release day. And that I can tell you was pretty odd, but lots of fun. There was strawberries and champagne to make the celebration complete.

7160 NO
The week after there was a new project called 7160 NO, which is the postal code for a small town north of Trondheim called Bjugn. The campaign was an initiative from the local bank to get former residents to move back home. I really enjoyed working on this project cause of the nice and colourful design which was also done by the other department. Bennett also produced all of the movies and a lot of the imagery used on the site. To spread the word the use of social media was important. So a big part of the strategy was to closely integrate the page with Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. See it at www.7160.no

What else
Besides work I've been going to Yoga, and for each time I go I feel that I'm benefiting more from it. I'm getting stronger physically, and I'm learning to block out worries and other thoughts and just focusing on what I'm currently doing. And I reckon that has been very good for both my creativity and my concentration, cause they have both improved. Can't say other than that I'm loving it, and that I'm starting the more advance PowerYoga class very soon.
