Recently I've been working on a wedding page for Jonas older sister Linda and her fiance Sveinung. The result is now online.

First of all I'd like to congratulate Linda (Jonas older sister) and Sveinung who is getting married this July.

I've been working on a site for their wedding which we launched Friday 28th of February. The site is built on top of Graffiti CMS, making it possible for Linda and Sveinung to edit all content easily. The site has some funny and useful features like weather integration from yr.no, a large Norwegian weather centre that provides the public with lots of different ways to use their weather feed. I've used a JavaScirpt integration that gives me a string with today's weather for a chosen location. Easy to work with, and works great. For the fun of it we also integrated a jquery based countdown to the wedding ceremony, and it's is counting down as you watch.

Since this is a very large wedding, and lots of people coming, Linda and Sveinung have decided to have page where all the guest can find accommodation since they can't house all. And there is a integrated map from Google maps, pinpointing all the important locations for those who are not familiar with the little town Lakselv where the wedding will be.

For the photo album we used the standard Flickr flash slideshow, getting the feed of images from a set in their Flickr profile, and those to be wed can easily use the Flickr UI to upload and set titles and descriptions to all images. I was actually planning to use the Silverlight Slide.Show plug-in for Graffiti CMS but it turned out that it did not support users that has free accounts with Flickr. Very strange I think.

The design of the site is made from a visual profile that I made for Mellaniemi, which is the place by the river where the wedding ceremony and the party will be held. I made this visual profile as a my diploma on my year at Noroff. Jonas Mom and Dad has been using the profile when they rent out Mellaniemi to Salmon fishers. Linda and Sveinung wanted to base their wedding page and invitations on Mellaniemis profile since the wedding is to be held just there. We chose to use a photo that I took of them on Airlie Beach in Australia where Sveinung purposed to Linda.

For statistic on the page I've integrated Google analytics which is a very good and free tool to keep track of your visitors, their browser, screen resolution and location.
